WIND EXPO TOKYO 2020
25/02/2020 - 28/02/2020
OFFSHORE WIND IN JAPAN HAS GAINED MOMENTUM!
With the Japan Wind Power Association predicting 6GW of fixed turbine wind farms and 4GW of floating turbine wind farms to be operational by 2030, Japan offers huge opportunities for offshore wind companies. Early this year Japan voted in favor of a law to advance the use of territorial waters for offshore renewable energy generation facilities with the aim to develop offshore wind farms outside port-related areas. As a result, the Japanese government recently designated eleven potential areas as suitable for the development of offshore wind farms.
Why attend now?
The preparations for the first tenders are in full swing. Japanese shipyards are already building installation vessels and local contractors are looking for experienced partners to team-up with. That means you need to be visible at the Wind Expo Tokyo 2020 for the Japanese to find you. Just visiting is not enough anymore.
Dutch know-how is appreciated in Japan!
In Japan, The Netherlands is recognized as a reliable partner for offshore wind cooperation. Since 2014, HHWE – supported by the Dutch government – has built up a widespread network within the Japanese offshore wind industry at many levels. Some Dutch companies already secured contracts, for instance related to vessel design & installation equipment. Considering the recent developments and future prospects in Japan, many opportunities arise for Dutch companies that can offer innovative concepts for foundations and installation work.
To further explore these opportunities and generate visibility within the Japanese wind sector, HHWE/NWEA intend to organize a joint Holland lounge at Wind Expo Tokyo 2020, taking place from Wednesday 26 until Friday 28 February 2020, preceded by an offshore wind workshop at the Netherlands Embassy in Tokyo on Tuesday February 25.
- Participation in the Holland Pavilion includes the following services:
