CURSUS OFFSHORE WIND TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS
03/11/2020 @ 08:00 - 04/11/2020 @ 17:00
In this course, the lectures will focus on pinpointing the possible weak links in the offshore wind transport and logistics chain and provide knowledge on industry practices from professionals in the sector.
Offshore wind farm development is a popular topic today. A large offshore wind farm houses around 150 wind turbines and the nacelle of a single wind turbine can already contain up to 65,000 individual parts. All these parts must be transported from the supplier to the offshore wind farm in a complex time-critical logistics chain. This chain consists of many areas of expertise and stakeholders which have to cooperate closely to prevent project delays.
In this two-day course participants will be introduced in this vast network of interconnecting relations. The lectures will focus on the weak links and challenges in this chain and provide knowledge on industry practices from professionals in the sector. The scope of the course will range from technical to legal aspects, and from the production of the smallest part to the operation and maintenance of a complete wind farm. These lectures will be enhanced with practical cases covering the installation and planning process amongst others. In this manner, participants will gain awareness on the complexity of this topic.
