System Integration in the North Sea, cross border challenges and opportunities in offshore energy transition.

This event is the second in a series of three events within the overall 2018 annual theme of System Integration. Recognizing the shared purpose that our industries have in the energy sector and triggering innovative collaboration among them is a first step to take position in a changing energy landscape.In the afternoon we will open the Offshore System Integration theme with an update on the development of offshore wind parks presented by Pieter van Oord of van Oord. Options for system integration which are being developed in the North Sea Energy Innovation program are presented by Joris Koornneef of TNO. Thereafter, we will get together to discuss and work on recent developments in the regular Working Group meetings of the Community, such as on Geothermal Energy, CCUS, Offshore Energy, Young Professionals and Digital Oil and Gas.The evening program the international perspective will be further discussed with representatives of the UK and Dutch Energy sector and will delve into some promising projects and developments where successful integration of offshore wind and oil and gas are under development.
The concept of the energy island connects energy production from North Sea countries and provides interconnection. It will be presented by Royal Haskoning DHV. Maarten van IJcken, commercial manager NAM will present the vision of NAM regarding offshore system integration.
We have special guests from the UK. An example of offshore system integration will be presented by Rob Hastings from IndigoTiGre and in the panel discussion William Apps from the Crown Estate playing a major role in the development of offshore wind in the UK will join, together with Carlo Procaccini, technology manager of OGA to discuss the potential of system integration in the North Sea.
After a panel discussion between the guest speakers from the UK and NL, the evening ends with networking and drinks.
